Israeli forces arrest cancer patient in Nablus, locals say

NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces arrested a man suffering from cancer in Nablus on Sunday, locals said.

Hassan Turabi, 22, was detained after Israeli forces raided the village of Sarra early Sunday, witnesses told Ma'an. Turabi has suffered from cancer for nearly 10 years and was preparing to resume treatment in Jordan.

The director of a prisoners association in Nablus, Raed Amer, called on Israel to immediately release Turabi and allow him to undergo medical treatment.

Qassem Turabi, Muhammad Turabi, Muhammad Sweisa, Ali Hussein, Hassan Turabi, Ali Turabi and Jaafar Turabi were also detained in Sarra village, locals said.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said that four people were arrested overnight, two in Ramallah and two near Bethlehem.
