Making a list of what needs to be done before going is really a good idea. Good planning makes a less stressful holiday too, below is some things that need to be considered after you have booked your holiday:
? Dates to pay the deposits and remainder of the holiday

? Travel insurance is in place
? Any injections needed are booked in with the doctor in plenty of time
? Arrangements for any pets you may have, that they are either looked after by a relative or neighbour, or that they are housed in kennels
? Travel money or card is ordered and then picked up (usually couple of days before leaving)
? Making sure that your tickets have arrived - they should be at least 2-4 weeks before you travel. You will need to check all details too, just to make sure flight times; destination and even people's names are spelt correctly.
? Suitcases are suitable and that you have the locks to keep them secure.
? Getting essentials that are needed, e.g. san tan lotions for a beach holiday or big coats and jumpers for a ski holiday
? Lastly is the packing, best to do this at least a week in advance so that if you have not got anything, you still have time to buy it
